The Rattlesnake was a unique ship and very versatile ship. Nobody trained for it for its PVP viability or specialized DPS.
This ship was completely changed around for no good reason whatsoever.
It is undoubtedly the best BS in the game for passive shield tanking in close combat. In its former iteration it had torpedo viability due to its missile velocity bonus and bonuses to all drones, giving it high DPS vs any target type without the need for a target painter, enabling the RS pilot to dedicate all of his mid slots to creating a strong passive tank. The large drone bay allowed a RS pilot to carry the optimal medium/light drone type for the situation along with a set of sentry drones for distant targets, and allowed for creative possibilities with large utility drones. Heavy drones were never part of this play style and sentry use was very minimal.
This was one of the best ships in the game when facing e-war and neut/nos. CCP Rise "rebalancing" has amounted to no more than tinkering.
Never forget. |

Don't you live here?
Try acknowledging someones valid complaint even if it doesn't benefit you in some way for once. |

Its not even the same ship for me. Its much weaker in the same playstyle and it didn't need to be.
I am adapting. I'm hardly playing this game anymore out of dissatisfaction with this change and I cancelled my paid sub.
Maybe you like to adept to being treated so callously and don't mind having your favorite playstyles destroyed but some people do, believe it or not.

Well, thanks for making me feel better about myself at least. I'm very thankful not to be dedicating my life to this game and its forums.
I can see again that I have been correct in all my assumptions. Have fun with your refreshing. |

DPS-centric thinking. The buff was only in the form of specialized DPS.
The nerfs were far greater than the buffs. The strengths and weaknesses of the ship were ignored and not played into with the changes. It was only reluctantly allowed to keep its sentry drones by CCP as was admitted in the pirate faction battleship thread.
To the layman who only values DPS, sure, it got a buff. For pilots who trained for the snake for what it was best at, it was a nerf. |

Broaden your horizons, bub. Try a Navy Geddon or something. Well, of course one can always change the ships if CCP destroys a specific playstyle via "delicate balancing", if only there weren'T the skills neede to do so... Flying a RS today does not mean he could fly a Navy geddon tomorrow... Instead of accepting that there never was a problem with the RS in the first place, people only started to understand how awesome and versatile this ship was. CCP has an agenda and this agende has something to do with limiting people's income. PLEX prices up to staggering highs, loot drops of highsec lv4 missions getting nerfed and nerfed, exploration values of sites being bashed down, as well as values of nulsec anomaly's loot... Everything they undertake is to make pve income more tedious and time consuming. I do not know whether it is CCP's belief that players will start paying subs if the grind becomes too time consuming. I don't think so...
Thanks for your post. I guess it does make sense if their goal was trying to make the RS more tedious.
I still feel this was a callous and unnecessary change, however. |
